Transylvania in full bloom and birth!
I spent four of the last seven days on a bike - over 200 kilometers. My butt wasn't happy but my soul sure was!
First was an amazing two day ride from Sighisoara through backroads and little villages to Soars where I stayed the night then headed back by way of Viscrii. The highlight of the trip was stopping to watch twenty lambs playing chase and head butt games. The shepards got a kick out of me enthralled for an hour just watching them play, while the mother of a just-born lamb bayed quite beligerantly at me to keep my distance. And baby goats!! Oh my goodness are baby goats cute! There were foals with their mammas, farmers plowing fields on old horse-drawn hand carts, and spring bursting in bees and flowers and shades of green all across the countryside.

From Soara to Soars and Back! |
The next weekend, Hans and I did two day excursions out from Sighisoara. Saturday we rode to the East through the beginning of the Hungarian region of Transylvania and Sunday to the northwest across the Breite Plateau and into the Saxon (German) region. Transylvania truly is a beautiful, fascinating, multi-faceted world.
