Arriving at Bergen

Cool McDonald's!

Bergen architecture.

My son Patrick would love this Viking shop!

I loved the beautiful back streets of Bergen.

The land of pretty pink houses! (JCM)

The fish market was great - fresh fish, trinkets from all over the world, and the best $5 fish sandwich I ever had!

Only the second day of my entire trip with bad weather (when I wasn't writing). The first was my fairy tale day and Neuschwanstein, a castle I dreamed of seeing since I was 12. The second on my cruise through the fjords which I dreamed of seeing since I was 7. Is there a pattern here?

The little town of Myrdal - beginning of the Myrdal-Flam Railway.

The waterfalls on the Myrdal-Flam Railway.

Sirens singing at the waterfall - they played lilting music as the air filled with the sound of the waterfall crashing around us. It was other-worldly.

Hi Aunt Kay! I knew you'd like the little gnome lady. She reminds me of you - happy and crazy! :-)

The rest are the pics of the fjord cruise. Hard to imagine as beautiful as it is on a cloudy day how beautiful it could be on a sunny day.

Guess I'm not going down there!

We stopped at a waterfall where they filled our glasses with glacier water - claimed to make you younger. Can I have some more?

The Glacier near Finse.

Does this land look familiar? You've all seen it (probably) - it was the set location for the Planet Hoth in Empire Strikes Back.

Mr. Schwarzenegar was quite happy to see me in Oslo.

University at Oslo.

Rumored to be one of the best burger places in Oslo.

I love gryphons.

Wonderful statue in front of the National Museum which boasts a wonderful collection of Munch paintings (minus The Scream which was stolen two years ago and returned the week I was there).

View of Vigeland Park in Oslo filled with over 200 statues. Amazing the lifetime of work this man left. Michelangelo himself would have been impressed.

Funny - this Gone-With-The-Wind light, lovely photo is actually a picture of a woman wrestling with an Alien.

My host Haavard and his friend Christian. We had such a great time hanging out together.
