Sunrise on Modern Art in Rovaniemi at the war memorial. The town was almost completely destroyed during World War II and rebuilt practically from scratch.
Santa's Helper - she actually put stamps on all my postcards so I could go talk to Santa before my bus! Isn't she cute!!
Everybody at Lapland Safaris was really kind. Prices were high, but prices were high everywhere in Rovaniemi. At least if you are going to pay too much, it is nice to have helpful, friendly people, which they all were.
Our blood letting ceremony. Next we get marked so he will recognize us when we come back as reindeer and will take care of us.
I think that Reindeer Horn Powder worked. Our Laplander pulled me up next to him for the photo with that husky, reindeer working smell, and got me a little hot under the collar! Damn...
These kids were so cute - all between 15 and 17, they were on their way to a Christian camp. I couldn't resist taking the "bunny rabbit ear" pictures though I couldn't get the picture to come out right once they realized what I was doing. Enjoyed chatting with them for the train ride. They even shared their Salmiaki with me - the candy version of the liquor James shared with me. They love it and loved watching me try not to gag eating it!
My new friends from Hungary - Ahron, Timea, and Andy. It was great talking with them on the bus and hanging out in Lulea
The one decent photo opportunity in Lulea. You'd almost believe it is a cute town from this photo! It's not.
Bracke - literally a one stop light town. I'm not even sure why I took this picture. I'm not even sure if I was awake when I took it.
