Rade was great. Met me for a drink and saved me from three days working without a break in the middle of his own hectic work week. I hope next time I'll get more chane to take to him!
Serbian fans at the Stones concert in Belgrade. I swear these are th tallest people in the world. I've never felt so short in my life!
St. Sava - intended to be the largest Orthodox cathedral in Eastern Europe is still under construction after almost one hundred years. The structure is impressive and even qualifies for "skyscraper" status by height. It is a functioning cathedral. Candles and icons jostle for space among the tools and tourists.
My daily fare for a week at Belgrade. Work and serbian salad with cheese watching the world beyond the window of the internet cafe situated on Slavija square.
Earth From Above. Great, great, great photo exhibition. If you have the chance, go see it!

Folk music and dancing performance I just happened to stumble into. I wish we had kept up traditions of music and dance in industrialized society.
Hmm, Serbian burgers, good!! Often when traveling I tell the person making the food to make it the way they like it. I love street vendors like this one, who actually take joy in sharing their way with me, rather than getting exasperated. The burger wasn't the best, but the smile was priceless!
Branko, Sanja, and me trying to cool off with iced coffees - they are sooo good here, with whip cream and everything!
Artist District of Skardarlija with its painted murals and little cafes. It was a ghost town with the heat the day I walked through but you can just imagine the wonderful bustle on a Friday night.
It was so frigging hot they had water trucks posted at each side of the pedestrian walkway giving away water!
